        Bread & Chocolate

        It all started when... a young couple drove their vegetable oil powered school bus from the U.S.A. through Central America and settled in the small Caribbean town of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. They started Bread and Chocolate with the idea of creating a creative menu of fresh baked goods, high quality chocolate desserts and home-made breakfasts and sandwiches. Two years after starting their creation they decided to return to the States and sold the business to, then cook, Tom Franklin. Over the past decade, Tom has gone on to take their creation and grow it into the business it is today. He continues to take great care in every item that comes out of the kitchen. The menu has grown but the commitment to make in-house products and to use local ingredients whenever possible is still the same. Most of his staff has been working here for years which helps to maintain the consistent quality of the food. This has led to the success that it has to this day. It is the perfect place to start your morning or satisfy your sweet-tooth!
